Matheran Sanctuary
Wet- Evergreen Semi Evergreen Forest
Memecylon- Actinodaphne- Syzygium Series
This project investigates the Matheran Sanctuary (Wet evergreen Semi evergreen) to analyse the forest fragments, degree of wetness, interrelation between land use, forest type and topography with respect to watershed, which gives a clear idea about system and how it expands beyond its physical boundary. The sanctuary located in the outlier of Sahyadri mountain range in Northern Western Ghats, is comprised of interesting watershed because of its unique plateau land form. Water sources have a direct impact on the health of forests and their inhabitants, which leads to variation in forest types that thrive along the systems of water.
