Sal mixed Moist deciduous Riverine Forest, Scrub-land, Subtropical Pine Forest

 Rajaji National Park, Uttarakhand

These forests by the foothills of Shivalik ranges are home to a unique system of riparian forests along with the Sal and the pine forests. The river and the valleys host a diverse set of habitats. The project identifies a key species, the smooth-coated otters, of this riparian system to understand this complex and dramatic landscape and its components. The journey follows the otters through their seasonal cycles and habitats and identifies indicator species and the characteristics of this riparian forest. The pause indicates one such point and its diversity.
