Passive Comfort Lab was an introduction to building physics. It started with reading climate of a particular location and its analysis on possible impact on a built form. Later it lead to the working of building physics and how it affects an individuals comfort. Further we designed building model and simulated to have a broader understanding of energy conservation. During this course we had built a prototype of Solar Cooker to understand energy conservation. Surveys were conducted in a residential building to analyse indoor environment and its affect on thermal comfort. Further, we studied passive strategies with introduction of manual simulating tool to optimize building environment. Various new software like climate consultant, D-View, Design Builder, energy-plus were introduced to assist us for better understanding.
