An approach to understand Plumbing Services

Plumbing services means a system which includes installation of fixtures, valve assemblies, drain fittings, etc from which fluids will flow ; to repair and maintaining them. Plumbing services are as important to construction sector as oxygen is to the body. During the semester in studio we learnt a lot of different things regarding the plumbing services. Starting from the first exercise which was designing the plumbing of our own house was a very exciting exercise in which we came to know about the plumbing design, the fixtures and the fittings used in our own house. Then doing plumbing design of a large scale project to achieve a major fresh water reduction constrain helped us to understand how important is plumbing to any project and how the plumbing design can be done in that project. Then cost estimation of the project was one more part in the exercise which helped us understand what are all different types of materials, fittings and fixtures, etc used while designing the plumbing system of any project. Then the last exercise was designing a working model which was a very helpful exercise as it helped us to innovate a product related to water using different ideas to approach water saving.
