Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSRC) is an under construction high speed rail line connecting the cities of Ahmedabad, GUJARAT, and India's economic hub Mumbai. When completed, it will be India's first high-speed rail line. The corridor will use Japan Railways Shinkansen E5 Series electric multiple unit for its rolling stock. The Mumbai–Ahmedabad corridor, along with 5 other high-speed rail corridors, was introduced for a feasibility study in the 2009–2010 Rail Budget. Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) officials visited Mumbai in January 2014 to discuss the details of the project.
