Nirant Chowk : Chowk Bazaar Metro Station, Surat

Can infrastructure become something ‘more’ than just a functional amenity? Like when the walls of a missionary school were transformed into something more that allowed osmosis of activity. Further, I tried to understand what ‘more’ meant by looking at the streets surrounding the public Law garden. While studying the Metro Station at Piazza Garibaldi, I observed how merging infrastructure and more affected life in a city. At the proposed metro station in Surat, a functional amenity transforms into a synchronous space, regenerating activity in the old city centre of Surat.
