Study of the one kilometer radius around home opened up a variety of possibilities for such interventions. Learnings from examples of pond ecosystems from the neighborhood helped in re-imagining the same at different locations. The house for eleven is an attempt to create a scaled down ecosystem in the individual plot of land that would be plug in to the imagined ecosystem for the entire neighborhood. The plot of land surrounded by houses and shaded by trees of mango, coconut and jackfruit holds childhood memories of happy summer days. The land slopes in one direction, so the pond is located at the lower part used to collect water and grow fish. The house opens up in the ground floor to the people of the neighbourhood. There is space for children to play and elders to meet.
