Wildlife habitats are indispensable components of the urban fabric and landscape of the cities today. As urban environment differs markedly from the natural, so are the urban animals distinctive and adaptive to the urban setting. Movement of urban animals between the small, fragmented and less diverse remnant urban habitats and the adjacent natural environment has become critical. Hence, the diversity of a healthy urban ecosystem has a symbiotic association with its immediate and the larger context beyond. Therefore, it becomes essential to integrate these remnant patches into a framework that incorporates these ‘unseen’ components.
