'The Beyond' Experience

In his book Embodied Vision, Jaimini Mehta talks about the existence of significant spots where the visitors would pause for a breather. One such point is in the entrance garden of Diwan-i-Aam, which was chosen as the location for the pavilion, in order to not interrupt the natural flow of movement at Fatehpur Sikri. Design of the structure elements drew inspiration from the module identified at Fatehpur Sikri. The pavilion consists of a façade made of kinetic elements which can harmoniously curve up or come back to its original vertical position. As the façade lifts, it offers views of the surrounding structures. Every moment would be a different experience for the visitors inside the pavilion due to the continuously moving façade as a result of a play of visibility, transparency and light and shadow.
