KINETIC BEDS ABOVE

AGAM dance center is a performing arts pavilion located in the northern district of Kerala. The site offered, is an age old traditional 4 courtyard (eattukettu mana) built dwelling in Malapuram, which is now converted to a tourist home stay for foreign nationals and internationals. While the fairly open pavilion expressed the idea of movement functionally, a kinetic design structure intended to reflect the dance and its grace in response to humans was kept as the intent behind the final design output. A cautious play of a intermixing contemporary and traditional Kerala built architecture, the pavilion designed is climate responsive in nature and offers a serene and relaxing space amidst all the vegetation around the site.
