Organic Corner @ Visitor's Centre, Auroville

The pavilion is an extension of the Alternate Technology Trail, which is already existing in the Centre. The project aims to promote 100% organic farming (mainly, medicinal plants), which is a widespread agricultural practice in Auroville. It aims to promote a nearby farm called Solitude, which also houses an organic cafe. The pavilion is an exhibition space, of the process of organic medicinal farming, the products obtained, and a place where people can themselves attempt a hand at it. The kinetic element, the sliding roof, is an attempt to moderate the amount of sunlight reaching the plants.
