The project is an extension to an existing square plan pitched roof house. The idea is to challenge the conventional dull sterile atmosphere of medical waiting spaces, creating a covered court with a hidden garden, surrounded by glass pods on stilts, where the medical functions are isolated.The project explores ideas of interiority and exteriority and the effect of structural systems, details and material choices to heighten the contrast between the bulkier outer shell and the delicate tenuous inner core.
