House at the lake edge, Udaipur

The project began with the challenge of being in a cramped site in the dense urban fabric in the old city of Udaipur. A cozy compact residence was visualized for the couple to feel connected from within while enjoying the beautiful lake edge.The project progresses when the hobby of pickle making transforms into a small business venture thus warmly welcoming the people of the city into their abode, giving them a direct view of the lake from the street. A large open joyful space in is designed front of the house for them as a release from the compactness around.
