Inland Waterways is one of the most common forms of Public Transport in Guwahati. It carries around 6000 people daily across the banks of the river Brahmaputra. However, these diesel ferries incur a large cost on operations and maintenance and create air and water pollution. Electric ferries have helped in tackling the issues of high costs of operations and maintenance and pollution. This project attempts to study the feasibility of electrification of the inland waterways in Guwahati and make an implementation strategy for the same if proven economically and financially feasible.
