In the studio of "Understanding the city" , there were 12 exercises which focused on the tangible and the intangible aspects of the city. Motera has been developed in the recent years due to its connectivity with cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Its is situated between both the cities and hence connects well with both of them. The study covers the urban morphology of Motera, which includes journey of Motera, connectivity & linkages, Land & built characteristics, Publicness of the neighborhood. The precinct characteristics are first compared with 1 sq.km. areas of Motera wit other precinct of Ahmedabad city considering the distance from the Central business district. This is to get a gist of how a core, suburban and a fringe showcases its characteristics.
