Bhatar-Althan is a residential area which has developed along Majura Industrial area. Today with urban development it has become a part of the core city. It has witnessed changing residential typology due to urban development forces. Compared to other areas in Surat, Bhatar has higher per capita residential space and higher property prices. Existence of arterial and sub-arterial roads in the precinct has led to commercial development.
