The Portfolio examines the functioning of the peri-urban precinct(Dilshad garden) which is located at the fringes of East Delhi and how it has transformed into a commercial hub after various chain of development like the development of metro rail which connected the precinct effectively with the city’s core and how metro development also acted as the catalyst to boost the commercial development along with it. This study also focuses on how streets are emerging as public realm, as precinct lacks public spaces due to non-availability of land and how these factors combined make this an Atypical Precinct at the fringe which still has a stronghold in the residential market because of factors like connectivity and other services and facilities provided within close proximity.
