The portfolio encompasses a study of 1 sq. km area of Borivali located in the northern part of Mumbai city. The primary aim of the study is to understand the history of the precinct and the various factors and events that led to the current scenario. Borivali being one of the most important junctions has experienced the transformation from only residential typology to mixed use built form.. This has impacted the socio-demographic, connectivity among the cities and more job opportunities in the city thereby increasing the migration of people. The precinct is also an outcome of the urban sprawl which has led to more holistic development in many parameters of urbanisation.
