The Portfolio focuses on understanding the urban fabric of Lucknow city through the lens of mixed-use development, using the data and analysis to understand the inner workings of a mixed-use neighbourhood and its effect on livability in the 1 square kilometre area of Gomti Nagar. Gomti Nagar is a mixed-used interface constituting a planned clustered settlement with the gridiron road network and different building uses. The portfolio is divided into five segments, the first dealing with a basic understanding of mixed-use development. In the second segment, the study analyses the job opportunities, housing scenario and transport choices in the city giving an overview and understanding of the city context. The third segment introduces the precinct and delayers the various parameters and functionality of mixed-use development. The last segment aims at comprehending the merits of the mixed-use neighbourhood over the conventional neighbourhood by comparing and contrasting the findings with two other precincts.
