Jayanagar is an affluent residential and commercial neighborhood in the southern part of Bengaluru. Jayanagar’s BDA Complex has been a nucleus of commercial activity that has attracted residents from surrounding neighborhoods for recreation and it has only been growing. In early 2000’s when Bengaluru was coping with its infrastructure, it had proposed the metro rail and also maximized its funding opportunities by JNNURM and built new bus terminals. Jayanagar became the hotbed of transit stations, as it was a beneficiary of both these developments within a walkable distance from each other. Along with the popularity of the BDA Complex, this led to the secondary roads to explode with a higher density of commercial activity, changing the land dynamics of the neighborhood.
