Pune has witnessed a change in urban morphology over the time due to changing means of livelihood. The preferences of people have changed due to the upgrading disposable incomes offered by a varied jobs. With the shift in economy due to decentralization of industrial units in Mumbai, Pune has evolved rapidly with increasing demand for housing and infrastructure. This has given rise to the fringes that act as CBDs around which development has evolved. Thus this economic anthropology helps us in understanding the journey of Pune from Old City to the Fringes, with the help of the interdependent parameters studied.
