Chandrapur is located in the state of Maharashtra. Industries and mining are major sources of the city’s economy. It is known as Black Gold city due to abundance minerals i.e. mostly coal mines and limestone. In 1964 master plan of Chandrapur has led to the expansion of newer parts for the increasing population. Civil Lines Lines is located on Northern fringe and was a part of newer area of the City. The dominance of industrialization in 1984 impacted the development of Civil lines contributing to the public and private residential sector. The significance of the area is mostly seen after 2005 as people started residing in newer areas. Residences are increasing rapidly as the area is quite secure from the crowding of the city. The pattern of residence is moderately dense and compact and it has mid-rise buildings.
