The study area is located in Nagpur, Maharashtra in an area known as ‘Faras’. It is located in the northern part of Nagpur. Nag River flows throughout the city of Nagpur, thus providing the etymology for the name. River Pioli which is the left bank tributary of Nag river stretches along the area with major highway NH-69 passing through it. Faras has seen transformation from a neighbourhood lying in the periphery of the city to a developed area gradually. The area has developed due to the demand driven growth in the city which led to the rise of residential infrastructure and dominance of residential typology in the area over the years.
