A defined order of standardised elements in various methods of assembly to achieve a system as a whole is my definition of an assembly based construction. These designed elements are a combination of primary and secondary members which can be mass-produced in multiple assemblies and are termed as its kit of parts.

Following the process of mass making, keeping opacity and porosity in mind mass1 is developed. It is then broken into its smallest module which becomes the primary element to develop a set of kit of parts. Now this module is further developed to form a retail shop for selling masks within which, from its structural system to its smallest display elements all is derived from this module of mass1 also keeping in mind the cantilever exercise the members achieve spanning for making mezzanine level. This design then brings us to a developed model of Mass2.

Moving towards final project Mass2 is now introduced to the site. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel stadium in Ahmedabad. Designed by Charles Correa and Mahendra Raj . The stadium is a folded plate cantilever structure with spectator stands and 20 meter long cantilever roof. The proposed design is to develop a centre for conducting investment in Indian sports Manufacturing, Retail, and Training. And so the final project is called Indian Sports Market House.

With reference to page 12 of presentation development of Kit of parts for the project begins. Again the primary module is brought into action by scaling, sizing and multiplying its geometry required design elements are developed .Standard connections between the assemblies are defined and it becomes clear that by allowing greater freedom in the form itself anything is possible as long as the connection rules are observed. Key kit of parts for facade, truss, structural column system to smaller elements such as railing in the entire centre is designed. Now in order to connect these different kit of parts tension members such as cable and basic framework structure of I sections are used.

All together the centre contributed to a sport enthusiasts desire of exploring and enhancing indian sports market with spaces such as retail zones, auditorium for conferences, exhibition spaces, research units for both equipment technology and health care unit. Showing how from a simple unit of mass one can develop various elements and its methods of assembly for different interior and architectural scale projects to contribute in making functional programmatic spaces.
