Swathe | A work stool

The project brief aimed at redesigning a stool for students, using non-mainstream materials and required design amendments. 
“Swathe” is a stool made of bamboo and recycled plastic. It is an amalgamation of minimal design and traditional methods of using bamboo. The intent was to make the stool stackable and lightweight, using non mainstream materials that is also sustainable. To achieve this purpose, the primary focus narrowed down to using hollow bamboo for the structure  which is an extremely sustainable and lightweight material and recycled plastic  which is processed from waste plastic and reused in form of the seat of the stool.
