By the Lakeside - Architect's Residence at Jodhpur

By the Lakeside is a residence for an architect with a small home office.  In response to the hot and dry climate of Jodhpur earth berming and evaporative cooling have been used. To seek refuge from the high temperatures the daytime functions have been taken subterranean. The hot desert breeze is cooled down using dampened AAC blocks. Adding onto that a  large reservoir has been created which has been continued inside the residence creating a microclimate. A central courtyard acts as a cool pocket of air and is the central point for the circulation of cool breeze throughout the home.
