Engineering Sustainability

We were introduced to the basic technologies and analytical techniques for designing data driven resource - efficient buildings in this course. The primary focus of the studio was to study the thermal and luminous behaviour of buildings and enhancing the performance of existing buildings. Computer - aided design software and climate data were used to explore the role that light, ventilation and energy play in shaping sustainable architecture. As the final outcome of the studio, a small dwelling unit located at one of the given locations was to be designed and analysed keeping in mind the concept of energy efficiency.
