Sharan : Lower Income, Migrant Housing

The project largely focuses on understanding and sensitising oneself towards the needs of a community before designing for them. The aim is to largely build around the existing fabric of the housing as it had developed over the years as a response to negotiations, social and cultural interactions. After understanding the basic needs of the community, the project focuses on narrowing it down to creating social spaces vertically as well as horizontally and to give the benefit of otla to the upper floors to enable live work for them as well.
