Foundation Design of Bridge in Vapi

The studio was aimed at providing an insight into the details of Geotechnical Engineering through a foundation design pedagogy .Several topics were studied in order to build a basic understanding of the subject. It was followed by a site visit to Vapi where a borehole was dug and the samples were retrieved. The samples were  tested in laboratory and by making use of the data, design of a Bridge was done corresponding to different loads. Suitable foundation systems such as Isolated ,Raft and Pile were chosen for the structure. Soil improvement technique was also covered in the pedagogy.
