Montane broad leaved semi evergreen and moist deciduous forest (Crestline of northern western ghat, Bhimashankar wildlife sanctuary) is home to the Indian Malabar squirrel. The study started with the understanding of the fragile system of rocky plateaus and their distribution throughout the Western ghats. The project investigates the microhabitat of the rocky plateaus and its correlation with the systems downstream. This interdependency of the components is important for the whole ecosystem and the absence of even the smallest link will affect the entire network. It originates as an unseen system of percolation and containment at the plateaus and emerges out as a seen system at the point of spring origin. The journey takes one through the indicators of the seen and unseen networks of water indicated by vegetation that exists.
