Investigating the sadas

Forest of Mahabaleshwar comprises immensely complex systems. Stunted trees, impenetrable character and dense canopy contribute to its remarkable identity. It inhibits innumerable flora and fauna. This project aims to study this forest’s system through the lens of a laterite outcrops ecosystem that is unique to the region. The seemingly barren, exposed rocky plateaus undergo seasonal change due to which plateaus experience shifts in its dynamics inhibiting unique seasonal biodiversity. The focus is to study conditions responsible for this seasonal shift and investigate the extent of the system.
