Proposed Project- The Yamuna expressway which is under the Yamuna industrial development project lies between Greater Noida and Agra is India’s longest controlled-access expressway, developed by Jaypee.
The studio Project Procurement Management, helped to understand the important and crucial phase ‘procurement’ of any construction project for any scale. Through series of exercises, discussions, expert sessions, reviews and interviews, the studio has a lot of takeaways from it. Some of which are- Knowing and understanding the term project, its components and process of project development through study of similar nature of project and creating a family tree for one. Studying various procurement routs, financial schemes, governing ministries/ bodies, and national-international publications like world bank, FIDIC, NITI Aayog etc. to get a broad perspective of the study. Referring DPR, tender document which includes NIT, ITB, GCC, Tender Drawings, Specifications, Price Bid of the proposed project and drafting the tender documents based on leaning from the same. Study of Labour Laws & types of Insurance, Safety Codes, Environmental Laws, Comparison of rates of SOR vs DSR. Analysis for the same was involved in each exercise which includes preparing checklists, project specific inferences were developed. In the later half, bidding through the contractor point of view was done which helped in understanding more about the contracting firm’s strategy and challenges which they face while bidding for a project. Drafting go, no-go checklist, bid capture board and checklist for filling proposal, Questionnaire survey and accepting feedback from the leading stakeholders of the road projects, Drafting pre-bid clarification, meetings, and queries and preparing the format understanding e-portal were few last stages for bidding which led to a complete understanding of the procurement process.
