From flat 2D surfaces to Kinetic 3D surfaces is the medium used here to arrive at solutions of various design problems. The surface is cut as well as being folded, resulting in a three-dimensional design that stands away from the page. Starting with basic solid forms which are cubes and cuboids to curves and hinges, house facades to facades of gates of Ahmedabad furniture pop up of existing designs to the final newly designed products were made using the simple technique of cut and fold of a material like paper, corrugated sheet, metal sheets, millboard, etc. Kirigami, the technique of cutting and folding a 2D paper to uphold the desired 3D shape can be used to solve many design problems.
