OF WHERE ROTHKO MET MIES: A THEMATIC EXHIBITION

The Thematic Exhibition, imagined as a set of two bridges linking the Permanent Exhibition and AV Gallery, challenges the notion of an exhibition and pulls it to two extremes. The linear bridges situated in the arboreal realm, and the central core located deep underground, play at the extremities of immense exteriority and absolute interiority. The aerial component, detailed with the expression of lightness, as dry construction in steel with cement board infills directly contrasts the load-bearing existing structure upon which it is situated. Fundamental relationships of architecture are questioned in the project, and the users are transfigured into the audience.
