In Indian cities, private vehicles take priority on public spaces. The ownership of these vehicles usually lies with men. This project proposes design interventions around the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad with an aim of activating dead, isolated spaces formed by the institutional compound walls to encourage women to access these public spaces more. These interventions focus on enhancing the experiences of waiting, and leisure through the factors of access and safety. The design interventions are based on research and study of this site (Institutional Edge), along with other sites studying gendered patterns in various contexts like Industrial and Informal Settlements done by my peers.  This project is a re-imagination of institutional edges.
