Ashram Road lies in heart of the city along the west of Sabarmati river. Close proximity to the walled city, easy connectivity via airport and rail and development of Sabarmati riverfront makes it the most desirable zone for commercial development. The central location, historical relevance, commercial and infrastructural development, highest FSI of 5.4 and other likewise factors have laid foundation for increased density on Ashram Road. It is interesting to note that the current residential population density is 67 PPH, but a very high share of floating population completely changes the density profile of the precinct.
