Neighbourhoods are one of the basic building blocks of cities, planning decisions such as design of streets, the size of blocks, the mix land use and the public spaces can have huge implication on the urban form of the city which eventually leads to the livability and sustainability in the cities. Well Planned neighbourhoods tend to exhibit high levels of walkability, a sense of place, social cohesion and stability, and neighbourhood resiliency amidst changing economic and socio-political conditions. The aim of the portfolio is to understand an ideal neighbourhood and does an ideal neighbourhood exists in Indian Cities?
