The population, land usage, and residential development of the city all alter as a result of industrial activity. Ahmedabad has been branded "India's Manchester." The following book is a study of a 1sqkm x 1sqkm region in Khokhra. It is situated on the east bank of the Sabarmati River, 2.3 kilometers from Kankaria Lake. Khokhra is mostly a residential area that has been influenced by the textile industry, resulting in the establishment of many residential complexes such as gated communities, informal settlements, and so on. It also focuses on the influence of industrialization on the urban fabric of East Ahmedabad.
