Urban development in Ahmedabad has been driven by several planning frameworks over the years, and struggles to protect its urban and neighborhood ‘character’ in the process. With the development of roads and bridges, the precinct had a link to the other parts of the city where people could go and work. The area has started developing as residential land for elite with old detached, semi-detached bungalows, row houses and low-rise apartments with low population density, ground coverage and FSI. The housing societies developed are well planned and has good infrastructure sufficing the need of people even today. Thus, while rest of the area has seen stagnant development the area still emerged as a spatially contrast residential area.
