The changing opportunities and threats that make up an urban environment in the 1 sqkm area of Asarwa are being explored in this portfolio. Asarwa, being an industrial neighbourhood is a preferable abode to the labourers in the estates. Due to this character, a question of compromise in the quality of life is attached to our thoughts, which is being assessed by comparing the parameters of the 'neighbourhood unit' concept by Clarence A. Perry(1929) further in this portfolio. Though being a western concept, the theory emphasizes the need for a healthy community-centric lifestyle away from the industrialised & motorized world.
