Looking at moisture as a sieve the sieve of moisture separates fragile species that sieves out with the slight change in the moisture and the hardy species that exist from the wettest to the driest regime. Different soil has different capacities to hold moisture. It is important to correlate soil properties with what grows in it. Looking at the major classification of soil in Jaisamand, one can determine the amount of water that is available for the plant and how different flora can adapt to the amounts of moisture content available.
