PBSS - INFRASTRUCTURE

Infrastructure is the core of Public Bicycle Sharing System (PBSS). It includes bicycle, station, mobile interface application, service maintenance centers, warehouse for assembly & material procurement & head office with Control Command Centre. Bicycle & station design in PBSS must be gender & age neutral for ease of accessibility. With technologies like IoT, RFID, Geo fencing, GPS, active ride monitoring, etc. it can be integrated with transit hubs for sustainable solution towards first last mile connectivity. The system requires efficient repairs and maintenance systems, to ensure bicycle availability and smooth functioning. Lean management strategies have been explored to reduce the seven wastes.
