The journey from fibre to fabric started with learning to make cotton yarn and then making cords out of it. The studio majorly focuses on ply spilt braiding and it’s different techniques. Initially exploration was done in terms of material and then different techniques of ply split braiding was applied. Similar techniques were used to make different types of 3D objects. As the final outcome, a skirt was make to depict the entire journey of how the fibre turns into fabrics. The aim was to design an innovative, stylish, comfortable and unique piece of clothing that could be worn in exotic locations- beaches, fashion shows etc. with the previous learning of cords- three different types of ply split braiding was used while making of the skirt with 119 cords.
