Condensed Blocks: Modular Stacking in Leh

In response to the climate of Leh, India, the program focuses on building an Artists' Residence including an exhibition, studio spaces and homestays maintaining comfortable temperatures within. The building pivots on the idea of a condensed or clustered form in order to preserve heat while also basing on the ideology of integrating a common block unit to repeat in the world of commercialization and modernity. The program's W-shaped form and lightwell through the staircase connecting all three levels allows for maximum direct solar radiation and optimum functioning of the building.
