UDAY - To rise above

Chartoda kabristan, located near the Ahmedabad railway station is a huge graveyard that is been a space for informal settlements from different parts of India. Communities residing here have lived around these graves for ages. Based on physical characteristics the settlement can be broadly divided into packa and pakka houses. This project focuses on addressing the issues faced by the community by uniting the two settlements within Kabristan, which lie on either sides of the ground having diverse family backgrounds. This project targets on providing cleaner surroundings and improving the current living condition along with conserving the graves and grazing land for fauna. Beyond everything, it ensures living around the graves more memorable.
