Breaking waves is a type of wave that breaks as it gets closer to the shore. As the wave approaches the shore, a friction is caused between the water and the ocean bed. Due to this visscosity, the wavelength of the crest rises to form the wave. When the wavelength reaches its maximum capacity or when it becomes unstable due to its law of gravitation, it breaks. Waves follow the mathematical concept of sine waves. Hence, deriving these sine wave curvatures, the structure is created. These curves have enabled to form in between spaces, which have been highlighted in this project. The idea was to have a structure that was like seemless skin. ‘Undulant’ is a structure situated on the Old Workshop, CEPT University. This interactive structure comprises of the discussion and the workspace area. The overall form is very organic and has been made to look very freeflowing. It has triangulated panels all over it which incorporates the openings that gives a nice play light and shadow. The structure is designed in such a way that that it can be used in and on it.
