This visitor’s experience center project named, Kudrat Ke Kareeb is a designed abstraction of the undulation seen in the local topography of Kevadia. Not just that, this space is also dedicated to showcasing and representing India’s capability, genius and self sufficiency, which is reflected by the Statue of Unity. The space compliments SOU, with subtle but powerful representations of the “Make in India” campaign in its exposed services, hardwares and fixtures while paying homage to the riveting vista seen on site.
The center houses the movement, staggering and unpredictibility seen in the natural terrain of Kevadia through the means of pixelation seen in different scales. From flooring to staircases to partitions, every element in the space embodies the wildness and beauty of the site. Not just the physical forms, but the material palette of this project is a mixture of wood in warm earthy tones, fibreglass in greens and blues as well as aluminium with a wood finish which pay tribute to the already existing materials on site as well as the materials present in the hills of Kevadia.
Kudrat Ke Kareeb as a project conveys the same feeling of national pride one feels after being in the presence of the statue as well as the prepossessing natural beauty of Kevadia.
