Chhanv- The Shading System

The project started with the selection of a junk object- Deployable Mirror, to understand the mechanism. A thorough research on the mechanism- Four Bar Mechanism, was done to capture its essence and generate models. The mechanism was explored through a lot of models. The spherical scissor model became the base for the design and from that the application, context and the movement was chosen. Here, the product was a Shading system for a residential building which allows the user to control and regulate the daylight and solar gain that comes through the space.
