Oloid Inspired Public Umbrella

The object of inspiration was taken as the toppling montessori toy, geometrically known as an Oloid. The object’s movement was the fundamental factor which intrigued me. The simplicity of the form in regard to the complexity of its movement made me look deeper into its working. The idea of decoding something which seems random but has a strong mathematical root and discovering something new and meanigful from the explorations drove this project.
