An urban village at the heart of one of the world's most densely populated areas stands Koliwada, a fishing community rich in its culture and traditions. Today it stands encroached lavishly compromising basic living conditions and disrespecting its original built fabric and morphology. This project aims at developing a brief understanding of the community and addressing its needs and challenges. A set of Guidelines are designed to retain the cultural identity, preserve the built fabric and make Koliwada well-equipped for the future. The guidelines aim to attain the vision described in this project in phases over the course of time.
